There is not enough words in the English language for me to describe and explain how this book made me felt, you will just have to read it to understand and feel what the author is trying to convey. This book took me so long to read, as I loved the friendship between Amir and Hassan, although I didn't  want to find out what happened to them in their futures. It was moving, gripping, compelling, extraordinary, insightful to the past of Afghanistan lifestyles, but this still makes me hurt just thinking about everything that happens. Definitely would check the trigger warnings before reading and to make sure that you may/may not need a therapist after finishing this. I wasn't even sad or really down before reading this but only after....
Otherwise, very diverse and life-changing book I read.....

Trigger Warnings for this book! This book granted is well written and informative of a horrific period of relatively recent history. But it is harrowing.... I mean just look at the trigger warnings already put in by the reviews. This book is dark and darker. Partly the gut-wrenchingly horrible part of it is that you can see this is based in truth and these things happened to many people and are still happening around the world. I had to finish it to find out what happened and read it in 4hrs straight, but my mind is still troubled and will be for a while I think.

This book is beautiful. I had to read it for school but I really loved it. It is absolutely heartbreaking especially with everything that is going on with Afghanistan currently it is difficult to read at parts. My main critique is just how unlikable Amir is, he is an unreliable narrator throughout and has very few if any redeeming qualities. However this is truly brilliant and everyone should read it.
