The reviews for this book are very polarized. I took some time to think about why. I think many of the reviews didn't seem to understand a lot of the factors carefully put into the book, like how Dora the Explorer was a model for Jack's big moment. Many people had issues with the speech which I found delightful. I work with preschool aged kids who speak similarly. Jack wouldn't even technically have a language issue, as the naming of objects such as Plant and Rocker created a consistent dialectical pattern. You don't get dialect from TV; you have your parents'until school aged years. I think the main difference between those who liked it or didn't may be the amount of interest one has in child development. As for me, I was very sad when it was over. I found each tiny detail interesting whereas several found it "tedious."

رواية تقع في 400 صفحة، استغرقت مني الأسبوعين.. أنهيت أول 200 صفحة منها في 4 أيام، كانت أحداثها مليئة بالتشويق والأمل، وتلهف لما ستنتهي إليه الأحداث.. أما النصف الثاني وتحديداً بداية من الفصل الذي عنوانه "بعد" فقد استغرق مني قراءة 10 أيام، غلب عليها الملل من بطء الأحداث وانخفاض حجم التوقعات من حدوث أي جديد أو ما يثير الفضول والترقب.
