So much, so powerful. Such delicate use of language to work with such rough feelings. I'll be coming back to this one, trying to take in more, learn from it.

Excellent collection, with strong images and themes mapping a terrain over which a queer transmasuline Black identity is forged and articulated. I cannot wait to seek out more.of Awkward-Rich's work in the future.

These are delicate poems about transformation and metamophosis. My favorite lines, from “Ars Poetica”: “I don’t trust anyone/ who has never learned the person can’t be separated// from the rot.”

oh my god what a magnificent collection - the way it dealt with transition, with grief and with the art of poetry was so beautiful and i do love a poetry collection with a clear cohesive theme so this was so great for me.
my favorite poems were ooo and ars poetica
some lines that really stood out to me were:
"now close your eyes // call this music // call this dancing // with a lover in the dark" and "there are the dead & those who haunt the dead & then become the dead & what a shame it is, what a pity. What a way to love"
