Here's the deal: I was going dock a star because of one specific chapter, but the rest of the volume more than made up for it, so it gets to be a five star read. In the interest of time, I'm going to rant about the chapter and then move on to the positives. Okay? Okay.

The chapter in question is the one where Kashiwagi's boyfriend is seeking advice as to why Kashiwagi's mad at him. Here's the MAJOR problem I have with it-Ishigami's rationale as to why Kashiwagi's mad is steeped in INFURIATING female stereotypes. Now, before anyone gets defensive, I' pretty sure this is supposed to be part of the humor factor, that he's wrong because he's relying on outdated and terrible female stereotypes, but it doesn't change the fact that said stereotypes are born from sexist ideas. Why was she mad that he came to visit when she was sick? Why, because she couldn't CLEAN HER ROOM because she's too tired from being sick and she doesn't want him to see her room dirty! Why was she mad that he complimented the women in magazines when she asked for his opinion on them? Why, because he SHOULDN'T have complimented them! It was test to see whether he would choose another woman over her! Those were the most egregious, but you get my point. I'm sure Akasaka isn't trying to push any agenda here (especially since Ishigami ends up being wrong), but it doesn't make that entire section any less EXCEEDING INFURIATING.

That being said, the rest of the volume was awesome and it made up for that particular chapter. I felt SO BAD for Hayasaka when Kaguya was taken to hospital to be examined. That poor, poor girl must have no pride left after Kaguya butchered it during their visit. The chapter with the all-girl's party was surprisingly touching and it made me appreciate Kaguya's friendship with Chika even more. I will give Ino credit, when she comes up with an alternate version of events for all the "indecent" things she's seen since joining the student council, the end result just BARELY made any sense. So, props to her, I guess?

Despite my gripes, this was a fun, funny, and at times emotional volume that I really enjoyed. Also, weird side note, love the cover of this volume! It's so colorful and fun!

Now that Miko Ino is part of the student council, she gets to settle in with the cast and find her place. And the others aren't setting a great impression.
She's still too strict, and somehow idolizes Chika. Chika in turn tries to make her loosen up, get her to relax some of her uptightness. But then there's all this talk of love, and she's starting to think Miyuki is a sexual deviant. She's beginning to think this student council isn't the place for her. When she talks to her best friend about it all, that changes her opinion completely, and now she might be on Yu's side, actually.
Some of the plots between Miyuki and Kaguya are getting a little tiring, mainly because I think I want some progress. Plus, the chapter where they got trapped in the gym closet—it would have made more sense if they'd worried the other person thought they'd fixed this up themselves, as opposed to assuming the other one had done it.
But I do still enjoy the craziness of this series, and I like the addition of Miko Ino. She's an interesting character to me.
