I liked parts of this book. I related to parts of it. I thought it was a bit like Chicken Soup for the Soul, there were some stories I enjoyed and some I didn't. Some of them I even skipped. But overall, it's a good book.

I loved the concept of this book. A compilation of essays written by mothers of all walks of life with one common goal: to debunk the idea of the perfect "supermom." I give this an A for effort but I was bummed that I couldn't emotionally connect with more of the stories. Only a few resonated with me. Still worth the read though.

This collection of essays was hard for me to read, as each one caused uncomfortable emotions. But it was good for me, and I needed to hear these perspectives. Being a mother is insanely hard.

Some essays were 5 stars; some essays were 2. I guess that's the risk you take in a book full of different authors. The honesty and variety of lives that these mothers love was reassuring and helpful, though. It does make you feel less alone and less anxious. For that reason, I recommend picking it up from a library or a friend and paging through. There's bound to be at least one essay that speaks to you.
