For me it's still not easy reading a post-apocalyptic book in which a pandemic raged. If I had approached the book focusing more on the robots and the mudlarking, I think I would've had an easier time but the effects of the virus still continue to be a huge part of the book so, I dont know.
I love Lauren James' writing a lot and I wouldn't have considered reading this book with this premise if anyone else had written it. Like all of her writing, this book is hopeful and soothing in a setting that is sometimes scary and overwhelming.
