Quick read with a great introduction to sustainable first aid, diy cleaning products, gardening, and more. This book is very down to Earth (lol) and inspiring to read! My favorite section was about gardening / composting. Strong bonus - all handwritten with adorable illustrations throughout.

Great little book that is in a style that reminds me of old fashioned zines. Hand drawn - cute illustrations and handmade fonts. Oh and the book itself is an earthy green recipe book full of how to's and recipes. I tried the laundry soap and although I did not love it...the book is truly delightful!

I'm a sucker for Microcosm Publishing's books. I love the handwritten/illustrated format and the size of the book; it's nice to hold. I don't think I'll use the health and first aid section as much, but I might try some of the cleaning products, and there were some good tips for container gardens.

Great resource for anyone seeking a more "natural"/DIY lifestyle. It's become a go-to for me in my everyday life.

The drawings are fun, as is the personable writing style, which both make it entertaining to read in addition to being helpful and practical. The book is jam-packed with information on a wide range of topics but is in a small package, so it's not overwhelming and would be easy to take along with you and store in small spaces. Definitely a great little book to have on hand.

A very useful little book on making one's own home products. I'm going to make shampoo!

A fun and unimposing zine format made for a swift, engaging read. With categories of essential oils, formulas for homemade healing remedies, cleaning products (including bulk laundry soap!), and finally, gardening tips for the unitiated, this gem was perfect for a thorough overview of all the basic necessities of a DIY domestic goddess. Thank goodness "different' books get published and libraries make them available to us!

This is my favorite kind of book, because it is a book that rather than simply giving you facts (although it gives on herbs, natural cleaning supplies, and gardening), it serves to inspire you to try to do things. The tone is hip without being patronizing and doesn't make anything seem too difficult, nor does it glorify making things from scratch. I will likely buy a copy of this book for myself, particularly since it's printed in Bloomington, the town I currently live in.

A cute little book with natural recipes for cleaning, body care and health care, and gardening information. Rather a 70s hippie style throwback, but still useful. That said, if you are interested in this stuff, there is probably not going to be much new, and you can probably find all this information on the internet, but still worth a look, for inspiration if nothing else.
