Can't believe we're done with this arc. I was on the verge for several chapters, but the fact that these parents keep NEGLECTING their kids book after book is beyond me. Ella is the only savable one since she got back into her senses but good lord, I just cannot imagine. Either way, I didn't eat this one up like the other ones so I'm just waiting to see now what more can they add to this plot, since I'm basing all my knowledge on the series, but now that's kinda over so I'm excited to see what course they took in the books.

As with the other 3 PLL books, this one was great. The writing was consistant, the characters were true to themselves. In this book we find out so much but we're still left with a huge cliff-hanger at the end. I was really looking forward to reading this after the end of Perfect, to continue the story and see what happened! And boy oh boy did we learn some great things!! There was so much revealed in Unbelievable and it was truly exciting!
Though I really enjoy reading these books, I've stopped reading them as of now, only because I'm not sure there was a need to continue the series. I feel like it could have been wrapped up in Unbelievable and left here for us to love. So I just don't feel like reading anymore of these right now. That's not to say that I'll never pick up the other books to read, but I have so many (new and different) promising books to read, that I'm just sticking with those.

The first three books in the series all had their problems, but they redeemed themselves with their explosive conclusions. The ending to this one never really sparked. While I was relieved that this book picks up immediately after the third one ends, I was quickly disappointed. Within the first fifty pages everything that happened in the previous novel is resolved. Two of the main characters are even removed from the main action for the weekend immediately involving the events of the third book.
In this book, the mysteries are "solved." These revelations are complete disappointments. By the time the reveal occurs, a lot of the main suspects have either been eliminated or can be eliminated by any reader that has been paying attention. To maintain suspense as to the identity of the killer, Shepard has to place a lot of misleading clues. In some cases, these clues are explained in the story or otherwise make logical sense. Most of the false leads make little to no sense once A is revealed. The end of a mystery just does not feel satisfying when it relies on so many coincidences and leaves so many loose threads.
