A beautifully written book about an unremarkable man, living a life devoid of any beauty, or real joy, unless fleeting.
I love these types of books; like Mrs.Bridge, or A Month In The Country, the character analysis and writing are perfect examples of how to write an beautiful story about the most mundane or average people. A feat that can only be accomplished by talented authors.
Also, I really hate Hollis Lomax. And Edith.

Very haole thematically, and the characters, including the protagonist, were unsympathetic and unengaging. However, the final scene where Stoner was dying was very well written and sympatico.

A love letter to English, teaching and the University of Columbia. Unfortunately, the titular main character continues to ignore his partners lack of consent.

This was sutch a great book. Before I started Reading it I was worried beacuse I heard that it was a story about a man and his plain life, but this book effected me so mutch. Yes, it is justa plain story about this mans life from birth to Death but it had sutch an emotional effect on me. By the end I cried so mutch and it was just sutch a beautiful novel.

Stoner by John Williams get a 10/10 stars.
