After reading Heartstopper, I’m trying to get into Alice Oseman’s other books. But this one just didn’t hit as well. I think it was her very first novel that she wrote at like ~18, so it’s pretty impressive for that.

I liked Tori, I found her very relatable. The mystery of Solitaire was interesting as well, and it made me happy to see her relationship develop with Michael. A pretty quick read, and worth it if you like Oseman’s other books.

A nostalgic view on teen angst, that has a tendency to be a tad annoying in a weirdly cute way. The plot however is kind of lacking - especially towards the end.

I honestly love this book. Tori and Michael feel so real, which can be difficult to find with YA books where many characters tend to feel very scripted and unrealistic. Overall, I think it represents high school without too many overused clichés.

absolutely adore this book, it’s rare to find a protagonist you relate to 100% , where you agree to all their thoughts, feelings and actions. i’ve never seen a character like tori spring before, she’s a fictional embodiment of me. a person who thinks like i do. i read this book very quickly and enjoyed every moment of it, i cant express how perfect it is.
although i do wish that tori and micheal’s romantic relationship at the end was explored further, i love them both
