WOW. i did not expect this to end up as great as it is, but i loved it. a pretty damn great look at teenage depression, bolstered by fun characters and a voice that unapologetically belongs to the main character, teen angst and all. if you can't tolerate that, you probably won't enjoy it, but i don't think there was any other way to write it. i'm just glad there's a ya novel out there that isn't afraid to dive directly into this stuff. there's some kid out there who's reading this and is finally feeling understood for the first time in their life. ain't that some real fuckin' magic?

3.5 rounded up (goodreads really needs to add half stars)

This was fairly difficult to get through for about the first half, but after that I eased in because I liked the characters.

Anyways Michael Holden carried this entire novel
