this book is a lot lot darker than the first but i loved it just as much if not more! morally grey appears to be my favourite colour because there’s so many characters doing questionable things that i couldn’t help but love
rio, zade, sibby and even addie etc.
this was definitely another 5 star from me and i cannot wait to read more from the author!

Too traumatising. I liked book 1 for the dark romance. Book 2 had no romance and too graphic descriptions of Addie’s torture

Ok I have many thoughts about this book so let me just begin. (Semi spoilers ahead)

1. I’m actually shocked that a book that has prevalent mental health themes would blatantly call a clearly schizophrenic woman crazy and insane. Outside of that, Zade’s methods to help Addie cope w her trauma are just… not good and ok

2. It’s so corny how many times Zade calls himself a god. The biblical references got too old too fast, and honestly really creepy

3. The scene where Zade tries to force Adeline into staying with him by threatening her with pregnancy when she very obviously does not want kids is one of the more disturbing ways he sexually assaults Addie throughout the series. Him saying that he would be the one to take out her IUD made me want to die

4. This book is so fucking dark that I don’t even understand how H D Carlton came up with it all while staying sane. The content is actually HORRIFIC

5. The continuous justification of Zade’s actions towards Addie in the first book is so disappointing, yet I think that this book did a better job explaining why Adeline felt attracted to him

Overall, this is a 2.75 stars from me

Like the first part, I was hooked. (It is NOT a stand alone, read the first book before)

It is so f*cked up… i can say that is the most disturbing book I’ve ever read. The “reality “ described of what Adeline went through is horrifying. Truely, it is NOT for everyone.

Nevertheless I loved every page of it. The author is so talented that she takes you with her through the impossible.

Only one thing could have been improved, if I may:
this really quick end of the story for Claire… I was on the edge to know. it could have been soooo much worst. So a little disappointment.

Stay away from this book. It is toxic. I justify my reason for finishing it because I NEEDED closure from this toxic trauma-ridden nightmare of a book. Heed these trigger warnings better than I did. Don’t do it.
