Is this a children's book? Yes, do I mind? No.
Do you see the breed of dog on this cover? This dog is a beagle, and for anyone that doesn't know I have a beagle puppy that is the love of my life!
Everything that Toby, the pup, does in this book, I have seen play out in my real life beagle puppy. Toby likes to run. Holden likes to run zoomies. Toby likes to escape the yard. Holden literally escaped the yard today. Toby doesn't listen. Oh boy, neither does Holden. What I am trying to say is that Cameron did well on researching this breed.
Okay, can we talk about how Toby is a service dog for a nursing home! When I said Cameron did some well thought out research I wasn't lying. He took the beagle breed's best quality, the affection they give and the love they have for those that care for them, and placed the breed in the perfect setting. What an adorable book!
