I am loving this series. The adventure really ramped up in this one and the onslaught of emotions is very impressive. I couldn't put it down and I'm going right back into the story to find out how all this ends!

Twice Tempted is the second book in the Night Prince series and we are back in the world of Vlad and Leila. I just had so much fun getting to reenter this great world. I was just captivated by the story and its wonderful characters and I just didn’t want it to end. This story just had my emotions all over the place and I just didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I enjoyed Twice Tempted a lot.
Despite the fact that Leila was a little mopey and made some drastic decisions, I felt like it was understandable and believable. It was obvious during Once Burned that Vlad fell for her. Everyone could see it. But he had to admit it. And if he wasn't going to, then she would just go. Besides, Vlad is hard to read, so of course if he was trying to not be in love with her and was all stony, she would interpret that as him not caring.
I hate that the synopsis makes it sounds like there's a love triangle. There's no triangle, only Maximus just trying to stretch a straight line between Leila and Vlad into a triangle he can be part of. Twice Tempted was definitely the installment that dealt with betrayal. Who could Vlad trust? He's had one dude come back from the "dead" to attack him and this time, he's wondering who was behind the attacks on Leila.
Despite the initial drama, Leila and Vlad find their way and things become a bit more permanent. Also, without spoiling too much of the plot, I like that it did what was necessary to solve a conflict that all vampire/human relationships have. Because of Vlad's proposal in book one, I think readers were all wondering what Leila would do.
My only issue is that Leila is a terrible decision maker. Well, I mean, she's not too stupid to live or anything that bad, but she doesn't quite understand what happens when she puts herself in danger. She may think she knows what she's doing, but she's young, not as strong as the people she's up against, and she's naïve. Even if things work out, she gets hurt. Yet, she acts like Vlad is overprotective for no reason instead of realizing just how terrifying it is to see someone you love, who isn't as tough as you, consistently get into danger and almost die.
I loved the drama and the action, though, and I'm glad I picked the series up and continued to read it. I like the urban fantasy feel. I definitely recommend the series so far.

A good read but again as with the first book, I didn´t feel THE emotional connection with my Vlad as I used to in the original series :( They seem like two different characters. But it was still a good story.

Jeaniene Frost is my all time favorite author, though I sometimes forget because the wait is sooo long between new books. BUT every time I read a new one I am quickly reminded again. Cat & Bones are still me all time favorite, but Vlad & Leila run a close second.
***Spoilers***
Leila left Vlad upon realizing that he would never love her. She went back to Marty and her life as a circus performer. When a gas line blew, destroying her trailer, (that she wasn't in) they all knew it wasn't an accident. Maximus, one of Vlad's guards rescued her from the explosion, and insinuated that Vlad may be behind it. Leila didn't believe that he was behind the explosion, but the doubts were growing. When Maximus & Leila were captured by a group of vampires, who claimed only to be the delivery guys they underestimated Leila's powers. She was able to free herself, destroy the vampires and call Vlad to help. He took her back to the castle, forcing her to relive her heartbreak every time she saw him. It soon became clear that someone was out to kill her, and she just needed to find out who so she could return to her life. Vlad was furious that she let him believe she was dead, and thought for even a minute that he was responsible. Every time she uses her gift of handling she starts to hemorrhage and has already died once. Upon waking from that instance, Vlad and Leila are married now that he can finally admit his feelings for her. Vlad forbids her to use it again if she plans to stay human, even to help him find the traitor in his own household. She goes against his wishes, and finds the traitor to be Shrapnel. It's just her luck that she finds this out as she is in the car with him, an extra guard, her sister, and another human. He takes out the guard before driving the car off a cliff. She manages to slice him in half, free herself, and pull the others free before she dies. Vlad finds her that way, and is able to turn her into a vampire before it's too late. Shrapnel is in love with Cynthiana, Vlad's ex who is determined to kill Leila. She is also a powerful witch, who cast a spell to cause Leila to bleed out if she tried to focus on her. Cynthiana is actually working for Mihaly Szilagyi, Vlad's age old nemesis who they all thought died in an explosion months prior. At the end of the book, Vlad & Leila have Cynthiana, and Shrapnel in the dungeon determined to find the location of Szilagyi.
