There is absolutely no review I can leave that will do this book justice. There’s a lot of heart and a lot of truth. All I can say is, definitely get the audiobook version, because that way you get to actually experience the feeling and the meaning behind every word and every lyric. As much as this book is about a life of trials, hopes, personal developments, family and what it means to be a woman or be gay or be a musician or even a lover of country, it’s actually really so much more simple than that. All this book is, is the most heartfelt, rational and unifying discussion of the three things that should matter to this world most: love, forgiveness and faith. And of course, like Brandi says, those words don’t necessarily have the meaning that so many people think they do.
I just think it’s brilliant that someone can become your hero by telling you and showing you that they are no hero.
