I love Brandi Carlile and this book just affirmed my love for her tenfold. She is an incredibly honest, authentic, and funny story teller that is able to bring out so many raw emotions through her words. I would highly recommend listening to this as an audiobook because it a) it was amazing to her hear tell her life story and b) she sings many of the songs she references in the book after each chapter (they are compiled in the end) and it makes it all that much more emotional and meaningful.

Recommend this one as an audiobook. The musical treats at the end of every chapter are a treat.

Some of us are slightly obsessed with Brandi, and wouldn’t mind if she wanted to be our BFF. I loved Broken Horses so much and even more so that around the same time I was reading, I was planning a girls trip with some besties to go see Brandi in concert in Bend. We’ve seen her before (she’s phenomenal) but I’ve never been to Bend (#bucketlist), so reading her story was top of my list before going to watch her perform again. Inspiring, emotional, brave, and lovely!

Wonderfully written memoir by Brandi Carlile. She takes you through the story of her life with such wit and honesty. It's great that she pulled back the curtain to show you how it really is like to be a singer and songwriter. Highly recommend for fans and those looking for inspiration through tough times.
