I listened to this after reading the recommendations about her singing throughout the audio book. I loved it. I was couldn't stop listening. I'm a fan of Brandi and now I'm a bigger fan. I love a memoir that is raw and shows the good and bad. It felt so honest and opened the door to her childhood to today. I highly recommend it.

I have realized in recent years that I don't listen to as much music as I used to because I'm listening to audiobooks and podcasts, but one artist I've been drawn to us queer icon Brandi Carlile. So when I saw her memoir was available in audio narrated by her it felt like the best of both worlds. It was interesting to learn more about her and her life and musical journey, and I appreciate how candid and open she was. I also loved that at the end of every chapter she sang a song or parts of songs, and the full versions were at the very end.

I love Brandi Carlile and this book just affirmed my love for her tenfold. She is an incredibly honest, authentic, and funny story teller that is able to bring out so many raw emotions through her words. I would highly recommend listening to this as an audiobook because it a) it was amazing to her hear tell her life story and b) she sings many of the songs she references in the book after each chapter (they are compiled in the end) and it makes it all that much more emotional and meaningful.
