Wonderfully written memoir by Brandi Carlile. She takes you through the story of her life with such wit and honesty. It's great that she pulled back the curtain to show you how it really is like to be a singer and songwriter. Highly recommend for fans and those looking for inspiration through tough times.

I’ve only ever listened to one other audio book before but when I learned Brandi narrated her book and there were songs included, I was in. It was more emotional hearing her voice as she recounted her beyond amazing and spiritual (in so many ways) life than I imagined. And now I’m off to listen to Brandi, the twins, and Joni Mitchell.

As a devoted fan of Brandi’s for over a decade now, how could I not give this five stars? But even if I hadn’t been, this memoir was real and insightful and un-put-down-able completely in its own right.
Also, LISTEN TO THE AUDIOBOOK if you can! She ends each chapter with a song that relates to each part of her life, and it was beautiful.

A heartfelt, authentic, and articulate exploration of Carlile's life. It helps that she is the narrator of the audiobook and with the end of each chapter she sang between 1-3 songs. Truly special.

I listened to this book and loved hearing Brandi sing after every chapter!
