Alright it's not fair to give this book 2 stars but I found this little over the top sweet which was little nauseating for me. I know I read quite a few over the top books but this much of sweetness is hard to digest. It's cute and fast read but...... well if you already have the book you can read this. it's just that it was little too much of cuteness for me. I found the female's obsession with beer irritating. and her judging every one with their choice of drink is again irritating and I don't know please read other good reviews too and decide.

It was a cute and fun easy read. So, looking at the title, am I the only one who expected a sizzle-fest of sexy proportion? I enjoyed reading this and Shelly is one badass teacher lol

Would have 5 star loved this if this teacher was maybe just leaving college instead of being 30. She and her friend Mel acted so so young. Mel ate like she was still in kindergarten, food flying out of her mouth as she talked after taking a bite. And the OMGs and STFU...who TALKS that way...texts, yes, but when you are speaking you don't use internet speak!
I loved Matty's confidence in Shel.
What I did like was the way Shel dealt with her relationship with Chase. While I don't agree that it was the right way to handle it, it was very realistic. I've had that kind of relationship where you are blinded to so many things, mostly because of inexperience with anything else.

Was that suppose to be adult romance fiction? Because honestly, that seemed like high school drama to me. And that too a bad one.
I mean, what's up with "Not".
"Not boyfriend"
"Not relationship"
Also, what's with this "he is such a girl" and "I sound like a chick" kind of things that some authors write. I really wanna tell them that just because some guy cares about things DOES NOT make him a girl.
PACE:
I don't know what to think of it. Sometimes it was too slow and other times it was too fast. also, I think that the book, overall, was dragged a little.
WRITING:
When I am reading an adult fiction I expect the character to sound so too. But, here, all of them sounding like they were in their teens, not thirties.

What a cute book. I was laughing the whole way through it. I loved the way Mel and Shel talked to each other. I really liked that there wasn't too much drama in the relationships, it made the story more realistic.

I'm a huge huge huge fan of Julie Prestsater's writing. Her YA Double Threat series is one of my favorites so I was really happy to see she wrote a story about the teachers at Carver High. I had remembered the teachers in the series but didn't really really remember them until I read Against the Wall and I must say I loved getting to know them better.

The story is about Shel, an English teacher at Carver High, who has just had her heart broken by not only her high school sweetheart and fiancé, but by her co-worker. Dealing with seeing Chase every day is harder and harder now that he is dating another teacher at the school. With the help of her bestie Mel and hot teacher and friend Matty Shel finds that what she thought was true love may have been nothing close to it and love may be right in plain sight.

Honestly I loved watching the friendship of Shel and Matty grow and expand as it progressed. He was the best friend she could have and exactly what she needed. He didn't push her or press for something she wasn't ready for. He was supportive and just their for her. Basically every girls dream. :-)

Prestsater has managed to mix fun and emotion and laughter into this wonderful stories about teachers outside of the classroom. I can't wait to read more about Mel in the next installment.

This was the first book I've read of Julie's, after stumbling across it in the App Store everything from the description to the title had me wanting to read more! I enjoyed this book I thought it was funny, sexy, and yet romantic I'll definitely be reading more of Julie's books in the future. 3 stars ***
