There may have been a few parts of this book that were cringy. However, it redeemed itself by having chapters that were emotional, and I’m going to be honest, I cried real tears. <3

This was a quick Hallmarkish read (it was a little empty for me in terms of the development of the romance). I liked the Christmasy activities that Bailey participated in and how she had her ‘meet-cute’ with the two guys. She also went back and forth between the two and couldn’t settle on just one for one reason or another. It was nice to see a character undecided and come to a realization on why they liked one over the other. (And in her case, it was quite a mature decision too!)

Follow Bailey during her favorite time of year (Christmas) as she longs to find someone to join her in her Christmas wish. The wish to kiss someone who cares for her under the mistletoe. When life presents her with two options, she wonders who is actually right for her? Is it the athlete who never spoke to her before but can now be seen all around? Or maybe it’s her twice savior who has a British accent?

Two things I loved about this book was how much it screamed Christmas: decorations, Christmas cookies, ice skating, hot chocolate, etc. Second, I love books with bookshops in it. However, I did not realize this book was about teenagers so I wasn't the target audience for this. I found the main character annoying to say the least. She was rude to her mom, judged one of the other characters on looks, and was a brat. She basically has this love triangle with two guys and she has her nerve to get mad at one of them because he was with two other teenage girls and gets jealous lol hypocritical much? She assumes too quickly on certain situations and is kind of conceited. Not the best holiday book I've read. It was ok.

A Christmassy quick easy read.

4.5**

I loved this young adult christmas romance! After learning that it was a young adult novel, I was hesitant only because some young adult novels can be a little childish or dumbed down a bit. But this one wasn't at all! It had the perfect amount of young teenage essence.

I liked the main character a lot! Bailey works in a book store over Christmas time (and throughout the year) and is looking for her perfect, almost Hallmark Movie scripted, Christmas romance. She is all about Christmas in every way you can think; movies, cookies, decorations, tree decorating, traditions, mistletoe, gift wrapping, etc. She really made this book festive. While you can tell she is young, she isn't young and foolish, and I really admire and appreciate how the author wrote her character. The pop culture references were a plus, mostly because I'm still young enough to understand and enjoy them.

One random thing about this book that stuck with me was The Cookie Swap. Not anything that happened during it, but how good of an idea that it (pandemic permitting...)! I would love to know my neighbors well enough to do something like that, or maybe have it be a friend thing! Get together, everyone makes their favorite kind of unique Christmas cookie and bring a tin of their own to take home their favorites from other people! Like, I am definitely going to steal this idea in the future because it sounds like so much fun!

The best part of this book for me was the ending. It totally took me by surprise and added an element of Christmas spirit that I really enjoyed.

I would definitely recommend this teenage Christmas romance!
