Okay, so, funny story — I bought this book during a late night online shopping splurge and thought I added Maggie Knox’s book. So when this one arrived instead, let me tell you, I was confused.
I almost DNF’d this one. Objectively, it wasn’t terrible, but it was so far outside of my preference. It was most definitely intended for teenagers. I’m almost 40, so my ability to relate to trivial high school drama is nonexistent. I found myself getting annoyed with all the Snapchat references and emojis.
That said, I do think this would hit the mark for someone of that age. Yes the writing is amateurish and the subject matter is predictable (I more or less guessed the ending upon first meeting a certain character). But I think the main character, Bailey, is relatable enough to a high school junior. And she is lovable with her pure excitement around the Christmas spirit. That and the fact she too is a bookworm warmed my Christmas obsessed bookwormy heart.
Anyway I might pick up the ACTUAL book I meant to buy, but at this point I’d be pretty distraught if that too was a letdown lol

This was quite a good read, although I was not a fan of the main character's indecisiveness. Therefore, I found the ending wholly anticlimatic.

This book was very cute. Definitely a feel good high school Christmas romance. A little too cheesy for me but maybe I’m a little bitter it’s January..the ending was a little much for me. If you are looking for a high school hallmark book, then look no further.
