Writing was repetitive and jumped around a lot with insignificant details

This book just wasn't for me. The dialogue seemed really young for college students. Lily claims she wants to have sex with someone who will live her but she hops between guys like crazy. She even lets her best friends boyfriend give her oral but she feels bad about it. Just seemed really childish.

I was provided a copy of the books in this trilogy in exchange for an honest review as part of Beautifully Broken Book Blog. I believe the copy we were given by the author was before the book had been edited, because I had a hard time getting through the first several chapters because of spelling and grammatical errors. I almost gave up reading the trilogy by chapter four because I was getting frustrated. Again I do believe that our review team was provided an unedited copy of the book by the author. With all that being said let me tell anyone who reads this review that I am SO glad I did not. This was an amazing trilogy. By about chapter 5 or so I was completely pulled into their world and stayed up until 3am the same night I started the book in order to finish it. It is written from Lily's POV, she is a privileged, naive girl that has decided to leave her family and friends in London and move to America to attend college and study music. Her very first day a dark, mysterious man offers Lily a proposition that she decides she can not turn down as she has decided it is time to grow up and live her life. Little does she know that once she accepts she will begin one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Lily and Alfie as well as the supporting characters were well developed and I absolutely could not wait to start the second book to see where their lives would lead to.

I really enjoyed this first book in the trilogy, Lily´s story was very entertaining, hooking me from the start. I love the setting this story was built in. I always love how KL Shandwick writes realistic stories, having three hot guys to choose from was a great way to capture my attention. The story was steamy, with a great plot and characters. Definitely want to read the following to find out what happens next.

Quite a few grammatical errors; but a good storyline.

Lily moves to America to study Music, while sharing an apartment with her friends.
Heading to the campus to organise her classes, Lily heads to the meet and greet area for new students to meet existing student. On the way, she hears music and stops captivated by the musician playing the guitar. After watching him for a while, she learns his name is Alfie and he is a big flirt, but she can’t help the way he makes her feel.
With the chemistry between Lily and Alfie undeniable they agree to be friends with benefits and no commitments as Alfie says he can’t offer her that. After a while Lily realises that she is starting to develop feelings for Alfie and needs to put some distance between them and see if he has feelings for her as well.
With things moving on well for Lily, even though she still sees Alfie, they keep their distance until, Alfie tries to get what they had back and Lily lets him know she can’t because of her feelings for him and needs someone who can love her, they decide to give being friends a try.
Lily always tries to do the right thing and keep everyone happy but decides that it’s time for her to work on what she wants to make her happy. I can’t wait to see where Lily and Alfie go in the next book.

Books that hook you from the start are total winners to me. This is the great start in a trilogy. In this book we are introduced to Lily and Alfie. There is a lot of sex in this book. Can't wait to read the second book.
