I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I’ve read graphic novels, but I’ve never read manga. I loved the concept and the relationship between teacher and the young girl, but I felt like it didn’t really go very deep. I’m wondering if as i read on, the point of the story will become more apparent.

This was a lot better than I thought. The pacing was good, the story sounds compelling, the relationship between Shiva and the Teacher is endearing, and the artwork is super atmospheric. That being said, the story's tone is overall cold and detached, though there were some lighter moments sprinkled in. But overall, I felt like I was reading a story rather than being immersed in a story and that was a bit disappointing.

Still, this was a good start to the series and I am curious to see where the story goes from here. I'll definitely be picking up the next volume.

5 stars.

Very spooky. That cliffhanger was nail-biting.
