Myla was a difficult character to like where as Ryot was a golden retriever all around a great character. I liked the structure of the book, past and present. The character development was very strong and I liked reading how the relationship started which made me dislike Myla even more.

Omg where to start? This book was a rollercoster. It deals with heavy anf deep topics that I wasn’t expecting. Also this book is at the same time a very different love story and a heartbreak story, it was kind of a story of a matrimony with lots of downs which makes this book kind of depressing. Lots of scenes could have been deleted and what I take from the end of this book is: where is Banner and Kenzie’s book?. Having said that check tw I think I should’ve.

Megan Quinn is a go-to for me. This book got close to my heart and soul fast. There’s something special about reading and feeling with the characters rather than reading about and feeling for them, if you understand. It’s an emotional experience, a roller coaster of emotions. You cry so much that you need to close the book but when you open it you find laughter and love. This is how reading should be!

The banter, the second chance, the swoon!! Meghan Quinn does it again for me. She's one of my go to authors. She always puts a smile on my face while reading when I'm usually such a stoicIreader. I have been waiting to read a baseball (ish) romance. Thank you MQ for delivering!! This book showcased getting over a marriage lull in a funny and genuine way. I enjoyed it so much! I also first fell in love with the Cane brothers so I love that they were intertwined as well (including an honorable mention of Kazoo that stole our hearts lol). Loved it!

Th is book got much better at about 40%. Understanding Myla’s motivations and trauma helped a lot. I feel like putting the flashbacks of her childhood at the beginning of the book would’ve served the story better.  By the end I still felt that - wow - everyone had to walk on eggshells around Myla and make everything about her but I get it and empathize and overall enjoyed the story and the second chance trope.
