An upsetting and incredibly well organized/researched document on the violent indifference that led to so many lives being lost in the AIDS epidemic. This doesn’t even cover what policies would arrive in the 90s and how the population would slowly recover from this scourge. 
On a side note apparently Randy Shilts propositioned my uncle for a date in 80s SF before he started writing this! My uncle regrets turning him down now. Of course, like many gay men in SF at the time, Randy ended up dying from AIDS.

harrowing. the sheer negligence and apathy on the part of bureaucracy and administration to really do much of anything for years is just mind-melting.
