I haven't read a book of this nature for a while and enjoyed it quite a bit. A female killer was a different spin on the story. But one I found out who the killer was, I was done with the book, even though there was still a chapter or two left.

My first experience with Chelsea Cain and her Gretchen Lowell series. I have been eagerly anticipating this book and the entire series for some time. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get to it.

Although a little slow to start and adjusting to new and unfamiliar characters, it didn’t take long for the story to develop and become hooked.

Archie Sheridan spent ten years hunting one serial killer before falling into her grasp. Now he’s trying to find himself amongst the wreck she made of his life by searching for a new killer targeting young girls. He is shadowed by a local writer, profiling his comeback and searching for the same answers Archie hasn’t ever found.

I’m looking forward to picking up Sweetheart and Evil at Heart. The latter has been waiting on my shelf for six months and came as an early reviewer book.

BOOK #100!

I loved the book! The characters were well-developed, the plot was engaging, and the ending was unexpected and satisfying. Overall, it was a great read.

It's super perverted of me to give this book even four stars, because man is it messed up. But...definitely in the "I'm going to turn the pages desperately" kind of way. Cain is a damn fabulous writer, and her characters are that gut-punch mix of sympathetic and horrifying. Yep, I'm gonna say it: I can't wait to read the next one. Truly, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I couldn't bring myself to read it again; some of the graphic scenes were a little much even for me.
