What a daring narrative style to start a series that turned out to be one of the greatest ever!
I had to double check whether I was listening to the same book when the part 2 started. But everything fits the narrative perfectly towards the end which makes up for a compelling first case of Sherlock Holmes.

اول رواية اقراها من سلسلة المحقق شيرلوك هولمز

این کتاب اولین کتاب از سری مجموعه ی شرلوک هلمز هست که با آشنایی دکتر جان واتسن با شرلوک هلمز شروع میشه.
کتاب به دو بخش تقسیم میشه، در بخش اول به سیر وقایع آشنایی شرلوک و جان اختصاص داره و بخش دوم داستان سرگذشت قاتل و مقتولین رو از زبان دانای کل بازگو می‌کنه.
در نتیجه کتاب تمام و کمال حالت جنایی نداره بلکه بخش اول مثل سایر کتاب های شرلوک هلمز به بررسی صحنه ی قتل و شواهد و ... می‌پردازه و بخش دوم (به جز چند فصل پایانی) داستان شخصیت ها رو روات می‌کنه.
اما در کل کتاب خوبی بود هر چند ممکنه (همچنان که گفتم) به خاطر اون قسمت داستانی از حال و هوای جنایی و معمایی خارج بشید و در نتیجه کتاب اون طور که باید به عنوان یک کتاب جنایی به دل نشینه اما باز هم روایت و سرگذشت قشنگ و غمگینی داشت.

Hela historien om Salt Lake City var tröttsam, men annars var boken hyfsad.
Mein erstes Sherlock Holmes Buch. Definitv enjoyable, humorvoll geschrieben und befriedigend beendet. Allerdings ist es nicht mein Genre. Gut geeignet für eine kurze Zugfahrt o.ä.
The beginning was good but I lost interest just before the halfway point. Then I thought the first few chapters of part two were really interesting but not as cohesive in the story? Almost could have been two separate entities if that makes sense. Not a bad read but not amazing.
Stephen Fry did a marvelous job of narration - I would have expected no less! It is definitely worth revisiting Arthur Conan Doyle's works just to hear the introductions and narrations by Mr. Fry.

This is, of course, the first book in the Sherlock Holmes/Dr. Watson canon and it started off with a bang! I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of Watson to Holmes, how they acquired 221 B Baker Street, and their work on their first crime together.
I am sure I am in for hours of entertainment with this because I intend to listen to all of the narration by Mr. Fry. Off we go!

Es fascinante. Me gustó muchísimo (pero muchísimo) la primera parte; pero al llegar a la segunda me "saqué de onda" totalmente... No me convenció la segunda parte :/
