3.5. I found the story compelling and I got through this relatively quickly because I wanted to know what happened. I wish Schachte brought up a character's race when they were introduced (instead of mentioning 50something pages in that the girl who was murdered was Black), and maybe include some Black women who aren't, you know, killed or beaten up.

What pushed this book up to four stars for me was Flora’s endless fuck up’s. I love a good MC who continuously makes mistakes and is far from perfect. I also really loved the dynamic between her and her Grandfather.
