Another favorite middle grade book! I am always highly entertained by Princess in Black. She is perfect for those who have just started reading chapter books on their own. I'd definitely recommend this series to those who really like action and princesses.

I haven't read one of these books in far too long! I'm trying to go back through my lists of series that I started but didn't finish, and I am very excited about all the books in this series that have been published since I read the first few. This one is very fun, but it's a little choppy because of the dual narrative. I kept waiting for the 2 stories to collide, but they never came together. I like that we have another superhero to add to the mythos, but I wanted them to work together more instead of it just being every other chapter with each character separately. The book is still funny, colorful, and very thrilling.

For: fans of princesses and superheroes; fans wanting a quick starter chapter book; readers wanting a vacation-centered book.

Possible red flags: monster fighting.
