Just a few thoughts:

• i adored Emily Brontës writing style
• wtf was this family tree like???
• therapy for every character in the novel pleaseeee

A very intense story of cyclical violence and revenge, facilitated by both individual character flaws and class & racial divides. The moors are a character of their own, swaddling the claustrophobically tight physical scope of the story in the two country houses of Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. The human cast ranges from mildly dislikable to utterly detestable, but not without each being given clear motivations behind their selfish actions. The ghost of Catherine Linton (née Earnshaw) looms over the story from Lockwood's first unpleasant meeting with Heathcliff and yet is directly deployed quite sparingly, making the specter's effect all the greater. Even as the novel begins to wrap storylines up and wind down its page count, Heathcliff's eventually fatal manic episode keeps the reader on their toes to the final chapter.

I read this as a literature text in secondary school so many times I know these characters for myself😂

Has a slow and boring start but midway through the intricacies if Heathcliff's character starts shining through. Book's a bit feminine but, then again, it is written by a woman (ew).
