Wow this was good!
I listened to the audiobook, which is always a risk with sci-fi because of how much world-building there is, but this one was excellent. There are two narrators for the two different points of views and they're both very good. The actresses brought a lot personality to their characters and they really brought out the humor and emotion in the characters' voices. I don't know if I would have loved this book as much as I did if I didn't listen to the audiobook, but I was super engaged the entire way through. I will say that I did like one of the narrators over the other one but it didn't ruin the experience in any way.
I LOVED Eris's sister, Jenny. She was so dang funny and I would find myself laughing every time she was on the page. More sister dynamics in books please!!!

Also I got this book from Netgalley as an audiobook but I'm 90% sure that it's available on audible now!

Confusing world building. Tough to follow because I didn’t have enough logistical details about the tech/world. I liked the 2 main characters. I love a found family story, but I wanted more depth from the side characters.

too far on the 'young' side of YA for me. kids from 11 to 14 being crazy badass soldiers, the psycho genius 'abusive but that's how she shows her love' older sister, meh
