wow, wow, wow. changed my entire perception of myself but also taught me so so much. HIGHLY recommend. readitreaditreadit.

This book was fantastic! I highly recommend it. I learned so much about myself, my kids, my husband and our society. The idea of being an introvert is so much more than what I had thought introversion was and it helped m understand myself so much better. All teachers and parents should read it! Susan Cain did an excellent job and I am sure she has helped many people be more accepting of themselves and others.

As an introvert who's struggled her whole life to fit into this extroverted world, I really appreciated this book :) Of course, I found comfort & a greater understanding of myself and why I am the way I am through reading the research and what she had to say, which is SO helpful. LOVED the book for that reason, and it's a definite must read for anyone who struggles in a world that values the extroverted personality.

I had a hard time rating this book though, as I found it a bit jumpy and unfocused in the presentation & support of the topics, which is a real shame. Also, I feel like only introverts will really pick it up, and in turn, won't that support only greater division and extremism between the two general camps of introverts & extroverts? A HUGE part of me wishes it was written for both audiences equally, because I truly think that anyone would benefit from what Cain has to say... and it would promote a better understanding of everyone, equally. it's sad because I think this book has the potential to have a far wider reach than it will.

It has some interesting research on the topic and discusses the traits in various settings, on both adult and children, which I find insightful.

Aside from the historical account of how our society may have shifted to one that values extroversion, this book was not exactly mind blowing or revolutionary, to this introverted reader with a psychology degree, just affirming and validating.

Loved this book so much. An introvert’s bible.

Can’t recommend enough (especially to introverts)! Not only is it informative but the most enlightening book I’ve ever read. It was life changing, I noticed a new found confidence in myself that I lacked before. A must read for all!
