I don't usually like reading poetry but this one grabbed me and would not let go. The poems are unapologetic and raw, shocking in places but perfectly reflect the author's reality.

Visceral and raw, torrin a. greathouse's Wound from the Mouth of a Wound is absolutely breathtaking and beautiful in all it's crooked and bloody glory. Starting with "Medusa with the Head of Perseus," torrin starts off strong and does not let up the entire book. Digging into queerness, disability, gender, and family, many of the poems reveal and convey hard emotions and relationships that are deeply relatable and traumatic. There are so many great poems--whether it's the writing itself, the punch, or the structure of the poem--that I can't pick just one to highlight.

Incredibly raw and frenetic! A collection of poems that reads somewhat in a form of a memoir feeling like a string of music videos with striking imagery and style. I was completely captivated by Torrin’s voice in this. The unrestrained anger, and yet the beauty in the phrasing of words. This was absolutely powerful and real. Punk as fuck too!
Incredibly open with their experience of gender and disability, a unique yet relatable voice for those outside the binary. I dug every minute of this, generational trauma and all. Healing in nature too, to those fighting everyday with the stupidity of this society. Highly recommend for those queer as fuck too.

"Do not make me tell this story
without a forked tongue."
Loved the formal playfulness. So many new favorite poems. Though this may still be my favorite: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/150926/medusa-with-the-head-of-perseus
