4 stars:

Interesting story. Not at all what I expected. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Good character development. Would actually recommend.

This audio book was amazing, and beautiful. It has the same real world feeling as Interstellar as opposed to the more Star Trek feel.

It was however, DEVISTATING, and I would recommend proceeding with caution as far as listening in public spaces.

I have always been fascinated by Enceladus. It is one of those places in our Solar System with so much potential. The Star in the Sky is the story of two astronauts, Bee and Ty, on a deep space long-term exploration. The interactions between Bee and Ty are some of the best realistic dialogue I have read or heard. All of the voices were fantastic. The main voice actors for Bee and Ty were wonderful.

There is so much to this story. Exploration of the risk, joys, and wonder of exploring distant worlds. The philosophy of death and what one believes happens to the individual after death. The difficulty of maintaining the right kind of interest in a manned space program to ensure the budget for it to happen. Choosing your own destiny for your own reasons.

The science part was wonderful, some of it way over my head because I do not speak science. The interactions of the astronauts with each other and the ground support. The sound effects were terrific. They added but did not overwhelm the story. I am a child of the Apollo era. Space is one of my happy places. I am going to relisten to this one several times.

Tremendous audio narrative of an incredible space odyssey. Convincingly acted and lovingly paced. So deeply human.
