This is a book that is very difficult to rate, so I opted out of doing so.
This is probably the first book to play the fated game of Kids and Grown-Ups, and the most famous example of doing so. It can feel grating at times, but in the end the story is mostly focused on the  eponymous personage and his devotion to a rose. Is this truly what the book is trying to say? No. The book tries to be deep and philosophical. And it only partly succeeds—of course it tries its best, but it can only fit so many ideas into itself, being a novella.

A beautiful read for any child or adult for their own individual reasons.
