I like Janet Evanovich books - quick read and silly plot lines.
lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes

quick read, fun and quirky.

So I'm gonna give this an extra star cause maybe it got better but I didn't stick around to find out. It felt contrived.

As with all these quick little romances, this was just delicious. Like a decadent snack.
funny mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

I'm disappointed in the ending. The story was medium pace, but the love story was definitely rushed. Pete turned a corner to love way too fast.

I'm honestly over the romance books where the characters decide to get married in a rushed way. It's nothing wrong with ending a book with the characters moving in and deciding to be official...I don't know, it was rushed and not in a good way

I was definitely expecting more 🔥❤️‍🔥 spice ❤️‍🔥🔥, and it was maybe a 1/5 as far as that goes.

I wasn't the target audience, for sure.

This was one of the 'romance' novels Janet Evanovich published in the early 90s. She was hilarious even then. Not 'flowery' romance novels at all. Full of action, fun, and laugh out loud moments/lines just like in the Plum series! I highly recommend this one!

Good quick read. Nice break from more thought provoking books.

They all get confused in my head when I listen to them so close together. Just another one of her stand-alone books with the same type of story. I still love her though.

it wasn't horrible but you can tell it was one of the first attempts at writing. The POV changed pretty much every paragraph which made reading it really tough. The romance was really not believable and their troubles were rather pointless. It was tough to even understand how it all started. In any event, it was not a great book and there was scant little humor in it. Glad she got better as she progressed.
