Love, love, love Abbi Glines' books!! Her stories are told beautifully and the locations are so perfect. This was a wonderful start to what I can see as being a brilliant series!! Bring on Marcus!
I loved this book. I couldn't help tearing up when Jax leaves Sadie. It was heart-wrenching. Really looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
i really enjoyed this book. I loved the emotion and the complexity of the characters and how the main female character is so real that you can't help but love her and want to protect her.
I freaking love these Cinderella stories:) waiting on Ryan Gosling to come and find me and tell me all about how lonely stardom is...
Awwwww this book has bad reviews but I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed Sadie, Marcus, Jax and all the supporting characters in this book. I liked the book. Don't judge me. :-) Yes I get the lovesick reference in many other reviews but I mean it's YA so I guess you expect that at some point. Not as good as Rosemary Beach but I'll give Sea Breeze a try.
This is the story of Sadie, a beautiful (although she doesn't know it), smart, caring teenage who has had to grow up too fast. And Jax, a teen sensation rock star desperate for a summer of anonymity. She is a maid in his summer home, and he is instantly infatuated with her.
What I liked: The characters were likeable and I was interested in knowing more about them. The premise of the story was good; I mean who doesn't love this kind of Cinderella story. The writing style was easy, the story fast paced, and as I mentioned, I was interested in what happened to Sadie, Jax, Marcus and the rest.
What I didn't like: It was really, really unbelievable. Seemingly, Sadie moves to town, goes to school, and goes unnoticed by most of the population of Sea Breeze, AL. I'm not sure what changed, but suddenly, she's got multiple followers, including Jax. Also, Sadie is very innocent, Jax is a rock star and he doesn't even try anything? For real?? Lastly, I found some of the stuff Jax and Sadie said to each other too over-the-top sweetly romantic. Gag.
After all that, I would recommend this to tweens and early teens who like a good love story. It will appeal to them in the same way Cinderella appealed to them when they were younger.

this book was so cheesy, I loved every second of it. I love jax and marcus and sadie and all of the gang from the stone house. so excited the next book is about marcus!! can't get over that there is 9 books in this series tho.
ok the beginning was like an other teenage drama/ hallmark drama. the one you watch on a Wednesday afternoon after school.
but then it turn out to but as an unvampiric rendition of Twilight! O_O OMG
I was a sucker for T so why not get hooked to this too, right?
Team Jake/Markus all the way! yeay!
As I tried to by the following book in the serie: Because of Low I realised that only the distopian novel and theis book are available on Amazon. as it is, I might not keep on reading this serie. too bad ^^

If you wanted to see Bella and Edward do it without the tampon-yanking scene of FSoG, this is the book for you. "I'm the world's favorite teenage rock star" is a pretty unbeatably cheesy line and par for the entire course of this book.
I really enjoyed this book, I had serious doubts at the beginning, I couldn't get into the whole I see you and I love you instantly thing but once I started caring about the main characters and the secondary ones proved themselves to be equally lovable I did enjoy it grandly.
I am still wondering why Jax's mom never appeared after the beginning, I mean, If I had a 19 years old son who apparently takes care of everything as if he was a 30 year old guy...I'd surely have sth to do with his saying or deciding to spend a lifetime with a girl...I don't know...it did seam a bit of a lose end for me...apart from that I really felt for Sadie, she was a lovable, caring and really mature girl who has the worst mom ever!
