Eventhough it is a sweet story.. everything that happened was too easy, too predictable. Out of nowhere Sadie claimed she loved him.. there was no real intro into her depth of feeling for him... Also her reactions towards Marcus and Jax were so ... just the way a cheap love story would play out... sometimes it's nice to read such a story.. but not this time.. not for me.. I am however curious to read the next installment, because I want to see if it is just as this one.

Quick, easy read. I would have easily finished this in one sitting had I not had things to do. It had a traditional love story plot. I would consider it a 'beach' read.

Things I liked about this book:
-A lot of cute moments
-Side characters
Issues with this book:
-Jax has 'never met a girl with compassion' before meeting Saide.
-Saide has no friends whatsoever. Not even from her home town.
-Saide doesn't know what iPhones are.
-Saide says she looks just like her former beauty queen mother but doesn't think she is attractive at all and is shocked when she is complimented.
-The guys keep saying that Saide is 'different' and she 'doesn't care if she breaks a nail'. I hate the not like other girls trope.
-They are in love like two weeks into knowing each other.
-He keeps calling her 'his air' instead of his girlfriend.

Well, it was cute

Wow, this book was rather disappointing. Most of the time I was annoyed by the character's Juvenile actions. This being my first Abbi Glines book was not promising, but i will try some of her other books. The last 20 pages redeemed the book some, which is why I gave it a three star rating. But this is not what I was looking for in a NA novel.

I'm hoping since Marcus is in college the next book "Because Of Low" will be better and actually fit into the New Adult Category.

Kinda corny with the whole rock-star romance thing, but it was okay. Some sexual content (which iBooks failed to say in their INFO section about the book). The writing was okay, could have been better, more exciting. The characters aren't exactly lovable, Jax is cute, Sadie's hardheaded, and the author pretty much made you hate her mom. Marcus was the only character I really liked, and I was disappointed that Sadie didn't pick him because that would have been a good twist.

Apparently the second book in this series is told from Marcus's point-of-view. But there isn't another book told from Sadie's perspective. Anyway, I don't know if I'd recommend this book to anyone, it wasn't all that interesting. Hopefully another one of Abbi Glines's books will be more promising.

so the story begins with Sadie her mum is heavily pregnant and can't go to work anymore so Sadie goes and covers her at her job over the summer to make sure they had enough money coming in to survive unbeknown to Sadie jex stone Rockstar was the one who owned the mansion where she worked she wasn't a big fan of his music so when she found out she wasn't bothered but when they met the first time it was love at first sight he was sick of his life sick of not knowing if people were being real around him he just wanted to escape for the summer when nobody would find him and sea Breeze was the best place to go one of my favourite parts in this book was when they both went shopping and he was acting like a total kid I absolutely love this book and I'm so happy I reread it I'm hoping to finish this series this time

This really is a cute story. It's a cute Cinderella-type plot and is great even though there are a few cheesy moments/lines. For example, the lyrics to his hit songs. I just couldn't picture them in "rock" music in any way. A few bits of the dialog had me laughing a bit as well.

In a way, I feel like (almost) all women can relate to feeling like a Plain Jane that doesn't get a lot of attention from guys. There will always be a guy that makes us realize we're crazy and that's just one thing I liked about this book. Much of it is contrived but that's part of the charm. We all want romance in our lives and many dream of it being with a celebrity who can sweep us off of our feet. The relationship between Sadie and Jax was very mild. Even though I read this thinking it'd be a little more intense, AKA adult, it was definitely more YA range romance.

The rock star celeb meets small town poor girl story does work and I found myself intrigued enough to read through until I had finished. While I did love Jax, I found myself liking Marcus too. It was definitely a hard choice to make, but ultimately I knew what the outcome would be. I did find it odd that there wasn't much parental action with either character. Jax, not as much since he was a few years older than Sadie's 17 - and I know her mother was portrayed as flighty but (dare I say it??) her situation was almost reminisce of Bella Swan. The major difference being I could tolerate Sadie much better.

While not necessarily an original story, it's still a fun and quick read. I'm excited that the rest of the series focuses on the other characters I liked while reading "Breathe".
