I had quite a few laughs reading this book. The characters were pleasant and the backstories were interesting. The deeper layer to the story was great but the relationship part was too cheesy for me and I did not like it that much. Overall a quick relaxing read for a summer evening.

My only complaint - and it's kind of a big one - is that Sadie and Jax are both SO ANNOYING. Their relationship makes me gag a little. I enjoyed the story line, despite its predictability, but I would have enjoyed it 10x more if Sadie and Jax hadn't been so stupid. Like calling each other their "air." Things like that, that remind me of my first relationship...when I was 15 and very immature.
I went backwards in the Abbi Glines reading, and read her Sea Breeze series last. I did enjoy this one, having now read all 4 books so far, this one is just ok. It's not great, but I think I put that down to it being her debut novel, and the rest of the books do get better.
I really enjoyed this story, I've always liked the idea of falling for a rock star and having them love you back just as much. So this was one of those stories that girls dream about sometimes.
Sadie as a character was great, I really liked her, she had a lot to deal with and she handled her home situation well. Her relationship with Jax was a good start, I liked the start as a friendship and then slowly moving onto romance.
The pacing of the story was good, I don't feel it lacked story, it was right there. I do believe something was missing. As a New Adult genre this was pretty tame, but I don't know maybe that's because it was a debut novel and Abbi was just starting out. Overall the pacing was great. The secondary characters were awesome to have around especially Marcus who bought a new dimension to the story with his sweetness and being able to show Sadie that he would be the better choice, but her heart was already taken.
Overall Breathe I thought was a good first start to a what ended up being a great series. I think it's best to give this one a go, you'll get a sense of the characters to start with, but you can also skip it if it's not for you. I enjoyed it, probably wouldn't read this one again but I'd definitely start from Marcus' story.

I remember that I read this last year, anyway I won't recommend it. The storyline isn't that good.
Very easy read and of course the characters are easy to love. Just a nice love story.
The book was being great until I got to chapter 6(25%) and the girl already knew she loved him...okay sometimes when I really love a book I can ignore the insta love but jeez she saw him like 2/3 in two weeks so it doesn't make much sense...oh and he said she was his air. I spent half the book thinking oh my this is so cheesy.
I started the book shipping Marcus and Sadie. It wasn't impossible not to. Marcus was so sweet and taking care of her so adorable. But then Marcus started to ruin things because he was jealous...But i understand him, he was trying to protect her.
Sadie I did admire her but I didn't precisely like her. She had a lot in her mind her pregnant mother making money, etc...and she's only 17 so that made me respect her. I think she was a bit irritating when she believed everything the magazines would say and she would cry and then Jax had to run after her and explain things...it was pretty frustrating.
Now Jax I'm not sure about him. I feel like I don't know much about him. I wanted to know how he started his career. How is his relationship with his parents and brother...and I got none of that so I was disappointed.
I can't freaking wait for Marcus book. I really liked him!

There is really nothing spectacular about this novel. It was an easy read, it had its cute moments. It was pretty generic, and I don't think it was written too well... Not much more to say here.
