it has been a while since I have read an Abbi book, so I thought I would go back to the Sea breeze series.

I liked it, but I think it felt a little too young for me? I couldn't really connect with Sadie, but I think it is just me as it has been so long since I have been in high school.

I am looking forward to reading more of the series though

I so can't wait for their story to continue. Jax is so protective and the way Sadie just adores him❤️

I loved the characters of Jax and Sadie, and Marcus too. Mr Greg, Ms Mary. Sadie seemed a little too innocent and naive at times, but this was just an awesome read. She was a mature and well thought out character. The story of her and Jax was awesome. Quick and easy with great characters. A great story which also shows two different worlds and how sometimes it doesn't matter how much money or fame you have, it's the other things that are important in life.

Didn't finish!

Sad, I know.

Just seemed too unrealistic.

And I was bored!

Moving on...

Not my cup of tea, it’s. very easy book to read but I got bored only a few chapters in. If you’re a reader who needs an easy Young Adult novel, this is the book for you! But if you’re like who doesn’t want a predictable storyline and more depth then avoid this!

3.5 Stars
He's a pop star and she's a girl just trying to get her family by.

The moment her summer holidays started, Sadie’s pregnant mother Jessica refused to work, leaving Sadie with the task of taking over her job working as a domestic for a wealthy family on Sea Breeze’s private rich island. Being the mature grown-up in the relationship is not something new to Sadie, and with a new mouth to feed coming just around the corner, she knows she has to save up over the summer so they have a chance to survive when school resumes. Turns out, the family she’s working for is none other than Jax Stone, one of the biggest teen pop stars around. Any other girl would kill to be in her position, but she doesn’t care who he is – she’s seen him on the TV and in magazine, and heard his songs on the radio, but she’s not an obsessed fan like everyone else is. The fact that Sadie isn’t interested in his fame is what draws Jax to her – it’s refreshing to not be treated like a famous star and just like a regular person. They’re both from different worlds and a relationship between them would just never work. But that doesn’t stop them, because if all they have is the summer, it’s better than nothing at all.

This beauty was a reread for me and it was just as enjoyable now as it was five years ago. Also, it turns out I never wrote a review back then, so here we are!

Jax and Sadie’s relationship was fun, flirty and sweet, and I enjoyed following them on their journey through both the highs and the lows. I will say though, I’ve definitely read way too many spicy new adult romances since I first read this one, so I was a little disappointed that this wasn’t spicier, but it certainly made for a nice change. There’s definitely nothing wrong with keeping things sweet and flirty!

Because this book is entirely from Sadie’s perspective, we got to learn a lot about her family life when it came to her mother Jessica. They’re relationship is an interesting one due to how Jessica has handled being a mother. It was infuriating at times, but as events progressed throughout the story, you could see how their relationship was impacted, developed and changed for the better. [tw: post-natal depression]

As the first book in a companion novel series, we get a great little introduction to the cast of characters that will be focused on individually in the rest of the series – it’s a nice little tease for their own books.

If you’re looking for a fun new adult romance to get swept up in, or are looking for your next companion novel romance series to dive into, then Breathe and the world of Sea Breeze is here for you!

all over the place and a little repetitive. I did like the mc Sadie though.

I love Abbi Glines so much. She is such a fantastic author!

This book was amazing. I can always judge a book by the lack of sleep I get due to reading it. Last night I only got several hours of sleep because I could not put it down. But fighting to stay awake today at work was worth it.

I am completely obsessed with Jax Stone. He had stolen my heart the moment he saw Sadie. The ending was fantastic. I hate how he thought leaving could ever fix anything. Personally, I think him leaving only made it worse.

I am so excited for Because of Low. I know it wont be about Sadie and Jax, which is kind of upsetting, but I liked how the Vincent brothers series turned out with the related but not the same love story method.

PS. I wonder if Sadie ended up in the music video instead of the other famous blonde

A lot more racy than the YA books I read as a teen...
