I need more recommendations of good books set in Egypt.
That's why I picked up this book, I wanted to read about Egypt while being there and get some more knowledge about Egypt. Honestly, this wasn't the best book for that as it gives a very idealized view of Egypt and isn't very historically accurate. But I enjoyed it anyway. I enjoyed the Egyptian vibe, recognizing the names of temples and places I'd visited and the archeology atmosphere.
I didn't enjoy much else. The plot was predictable, though decently entertaining, the magic didn't add much and the writing was pretty juvenile. The characters and romance were pretty forgettable. I didn't realize it was part of a series and I won't be reading the rest.
2.5 rounded up but solely because I was in Egypt.
