I enjoyed the storyline, felt it was something that I hadn’t really seen before. The setting of Egypt was really nice and described in a way that I could really imagine. I liked the characters and felt they were written in a way that constantly had you questioning who you could trust. I liked the pace at the start however felt like towards then so much happened in a short period of time it lost some of its charm. It became a little bit difficult to keep track of everything at the end and all the characters. Enjoyed the ending though and wasn’t aware how it was going to end which was good.

The MOMENT I finished this, I was already downloading the next book. I blew through this in less than 2 days. The ending made my jaw drop, I am desperate for more information.
Graphic: Gun violence
Im shook
The amount of times I was taken aback and audibly gasped is wild
The ending had me scraping my jaw off the floor

3.5/3.75 stars!
Wow this was so fun! I will say the pacing was very, very slow given what the summary promises (an action packed fantasy) and that's mostly why I'm not giving it a full four stars. I also felt like a lot of the key plot points were skirted around or inserted rather quickly (ie, the big ending scene with the character death??? why????) and a bit of repetitiveness in terms of obstacles that impeded the action.
But wow. Whit is a dream and I'm hoping the energy of the last 25 pages of the book transfer over to the sequel because IT WAS GIVING what I wanted the entire book. There's a lot of questions I have about Whit, especially after that epilogue WTF? So I'll be looking forward to the next one!
