Idk this didn't really live up to the expectations I had following the first book.
First and foremost: I fucking miss Vincent. I probably would have liked Scythe had he been there from the jump, but I jsut found him empty and me missing Vincent hardcore.
The story just kept getting kind of boring for me. The best part of this book was probably the bi awakening with War and Scythe. The spice for that and with Bliss' various spice scenes was nice. But can we not use the word mound all the time? Or like, preferably, at all? Lol
Also there was a lot of things that just were out of nowhere and made it feel disjointed and awkward. Her mom suddenly being a goodish person? Her dad and his wife and their kids being good with her owning a bar(that he and his wife know has a secret sex club), even though her dad has always wanted her to be prim and proper Bethany Melissa. Also...speaking of her dad and his wife having gone to the sex club when Axel was alive...Axel would have known her dad? Idk that felt weird.
This all just felt weird.

But Bliss was at least less annoying in this book than she was on the first.
Since I'm already two books in, im gonna give the third a go, and hopefully, it's better. I hope Vincent comes back, tbh lol

this series has my hooked!

I am so invested in this storyline, it’s insane. The way that these books are written are just *chefs kiss*. I’m obsessed with every single character and all the insanity that lies within their stories. The way that all of this just unfolded had my eyes the size of the moon because I was not ready for that!! Off to the third one I go!!

Holy mother of yumminess!
The build up of the characters and story were perfection. I loved that the relationship with Bliss and her mens developed even more than I expected it to. And DAMN Nash can I say FINALLY BRO! I am so happy for her mom and hope it goes somewhere good for her! That ending was honestly not expected and I was not thinking the book stopped where it did. I am so excited for everyone to read this and enjoy it as much as I did!

I had the opportunity to ARC read this fantastical book!

Another one day read. Elle Thorpe is quickly becoming one of my top authors. These books are addicting. Diving right into the final one tonight.

🌶🌶?
Update

really great series! love the development between the characters!

Ehh

The second installment lost my attention a few times. It wasn't as easy to fall into and finish like the first one was.

So this book has just continued to get a little more ridiculous as it goes, but I'm still absolutely eating it up. The plot of Bliss' brothers death, and the bar stuff in general is all very background. The majority of this book is about the characters and their relationships, and I enjoyed it.

I love the banter with Scythe and Bliss, and just Scythe in general. Nash trying to be the good guy is driving me insane, I'm ready for him to just give up and be on board. War is delicious as always. And the stuff between War and Scythe is hot hot hot!

I don't know how I feel about Scythe completely taking over and not getting any Vincent in this book. It feels like cheating? Or that Vincent is getting the short end of the stick. I'm really curious how that's all gonna conclude in the next book.

Honestly nothing plot wise was resolved in this book and I feel like more and more things kept happening, so there is a lot that needs to get wrapped up this next book. I'm hoping it does a good job and it doesn't just wrap up super quick and nice and tidy.
