Half the Battle

Love and heartache

Oh poor Bliss! Each of her guys is hurting her in some way. And the reunion with her mother probably won't be turmoil free either. We also still have the matter of who killed her brother, although there a lead finally.

Nice mix of spice and story. 4.5 stars

This book starts right where the first one left off, at the edge of a cliff in the pouring rain. Bliss gets attacked by her ex and has to be saved by Scythe, the alter ego of Vincent. She knows bring him out could end badly but she does what she has to do. Vincent and Scythe fight for control throughout most of this book and Bliss tries to keep his other identity a secret from everyone else, including Nash and War. War especially would unalive him if he knew who he really was. Half the Battle has a lot of lies and drama and of course ends in another cliffhanger. I can’t wait to continue this series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Have you ever be victimized by Elle Thorpe in the last 10 pages of a book? well right here is the book for you! Spice: amazing, Twist: unexpected, cliffhanger: just plain mean! My new hyper fixation for April all things Saint View....

The saga continues in this book and it’s absolutely riveting! My life is basically on hold so I can finish this trilogy!
The plot is so so good and so well written! The spice is just an added bonus!
I love how the slow burn between Bliss and Nash finally came to a delicious conclusion🔥 It was about time!
War and Scythe was just 🔥 but the last two chapters of the book had me biting my nails and repeating ‘no! No! NO!’ 😩😩😩 Then adding on the cops and Tabor! I was screaming into the void!!!! 😩😩😩
I really liked Vincent in the first book and I missed him in this one, hoped he would make an appearance. But I’m also conflicted because if we have Vincent then what happens to Scythe and War?? 😩😩😩😩
My brain cannot compute this so into the third book, I go!
Also, the narration!!!! 5 ⭐️ again!! How Gregory Salinas can narrate Vincent, War, Nash and Scythe and bring out their different qualities is something that should be studied!!!
Michelle, as always, shone as Bliss! 💛

I cannot recommend this book enough!!!

Half the battle was a little darker than the 1st book in the series. I did enjoy that we got to meet Scythe and I'm kind of wondering how book 3 would be. There was some MM in the book which I wasn't expecting based off who the characters were, but I didn't enjoy it because it was surprising. Some of my questions did get answered from the 1st book, but not all and some new questions arose with Half the Battle.

I think the narrator did a good job once again and I'm glad it was the same people from the 1st audiobook.
I think they did a good job where emotion was needed, and that they put some emphasis on the darker parts, if that makes sense.

Overall, I did enjoy the 2nd book and I am waiting for the 3rd book to find out my unanswered questions. I do hope we find out who killed Axel.
