Fantastic! Highly recommend listening to the audio book as Bono reads it. I normally fly through and do audio books at 3x speed but I listened to this at 1x speed as he sings at different points.

Random thoughts and comments while listening:
Glad to hear about his Christian upbringing and the shalom church. Interesting development during 'the troubles'.
Yay, Rashida Jones! Love hearing this story in the book after getting a glimpse of it in the podcast Bill Gates and Rashida Jones ask the Big Questions.
Interesting how he is a man of the world while also being a Dubliner through and through
Good so far, but getting a little political. Why is he campaigning here and not in Ireland/UK/Europe at large. (after he spoke more on this I understand his campaign strategy more)
So happy he talked about how he tries to find people doing good and promote them. Rather than trying to portray himself as the answer holder.
It was so interesting to hear his stories on how he met and got connected to Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Naomi Campbell.
Thoroughly enjoyed his story on lunch with Johnny Cash in 1987 (My mother was in school with John Carter at that time; we currently live down the road from the ruins of that home). Will forever think of Johnny Cash calling an emu 'a prehistoric chicken from Hell' when I drive by the Cash family animal sanctuary.

U2 was the soundtrack of my early childhood, so I was curious to experience this audiobook.
40 semi-linear chapters explore his life, spirituality, 40+ years of marriage, musical career, and humanitarian work. None of these threads takes prominence, which made the overall experience feel a bit disjointed and this book felt too long (20 hours!) and too superficial at the same time. I would have loved to go deeper into the story of the band and the music, or his advocacy. Still, there were interesting tidbits throughout - something to appeal to fans of any facet of Bono, but maybe a lot of uninteresting content for those who are not interested in every facet of Bono.
I almost quit halfway through, but the many reviews complaining about too much humanitarian and political content in the second half motivated me to keep going, and that did turn out to be one of the more engaging parts of the book for  me.
I'm not sure who would love this or want to dedicate 20 hours to this experience other than a superfan, but I suppose I made it through and have minimal complaints.

Surrender isn’t just a book, it’s a journey throughout the history of Bono and U2 told through song, lyrics, stories and so much emotion. Highly recommend listening to the audio version, narrated by Bono. It felt like more of a conversation than an author reading their book. His ability to mimic voices is highly entertaining. The audiobook is over 20 hours long but it held my interest and zoomed by. Loved reading about his extraordinary experiences.
