I admit I had already soured on Gibson, but I wanted to give him another chance. I'm probably older than most of his readers, but I am tech-savvy and have read a LOT of SF. I've read plenty of leading-edge stuff and liked some of it.

This is techno-babble, look-how-cool-I-am nonsense. I bailed at page 19, probably the earliest I have ever quit on a book. I know featureless characters, I’m-one-of-the-cool-kids references, and pretentious cryptic conversations when I see them.

Your mileage may vary, so go for it, you might like it. Others have.

So much imaginative and realistic technology, a great thriller plot, characters you care about, time-travel, post and pre apocalyptic worlds, heaps of cliff hangers. One of the best science fiction novels I have read.

3.75 Once I started to understand more what was going on I really enjoyed this. I like the idea of using AI to see the future/past. Now to watch the show to compare and wait until my hold on the sequel becomes available in the Libby app.

No idea what is going on....all the chapters are just disjointed and very difficult to follow. Apparently it all comes together around the 25% mark and starts to follow a specific path, but I can't stick with it.

Started pretty scattershot. The plot seemed to meander to the point of causing a loss in interest. Then all these disparate plot lines begin to merge and get more interesting. And while I won’t say that it ever coalesced or became phenomenally good, it was at least a pretty good read.
