Cute, touching, a little bit sexy (not in the spicy way though), very endearing and imaginative.
i liked the concept, but I’ve been reading his for so long and don’t feel invested in the story really at all. it just keeps taking turns I don’t enjoy so I’m over it

This is Julys book club read. It is a fun little light hearted read, good for pool side. The link is very british and could be a little difficult for those who dont know all the ins and outs of british lingo (skint = broke). All in all, if you come across it, I would recommend you read but dont go out of your way for it.
3.5 stars
I picked up this book for the 2020 PopSugar Challenge category "A book featuring one of the seven deadly sins" and this one had 6 of the 7 (gluttony was missing) and turns out it was pretty funny (also a little graphic for the 'Lust" sin, so NOT a book for kids).
This follows some of the original Greek Gods, but in modern day London and they appear to be loosing all their power. It also follows to seemingly boring humans, Alice & Neil, and how their fates become entwined with the Gods. It's a fairly quick read and I chuckled way more than I thought I would. It was a good first book to check off my PopSugar list for 2020.

“I the fuck am Neil.”
Overall I think this book was a good quick read. The plot was ok enough for me to want to continue reading but the resolution at the end kinda felt too easy, like there wasn’t enough high stakes or making me question what was gonna happen next. I also didn’t particularly care for how some of the gods were written, specifically Apollo, he was kind of a douche bag. But who am I to say how gods would act everybody has their own perspective and opinion.

I don't particularly like the characterization of the gods, they feel so one dimensional and so stereotypical; it's a bit boring. The plot itself isn't too bad, I prefer the first half to the second half (even though the first half took me a lot longer to get through). It felt a bit obvious where it was going, nothing quite special about how they were going to fix the main problem.
It is so funny to me that a movie adaptation was made, premiered, got terrible reviews, and then was never released. (I can kind of see why, based solely on the book).
