A strangely heartwarming romp through modern London with ancient gods. Funny and thought provoking.
adventurous
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No

i love mythology, and this funny take on it made me smile.

I'm a fan of the concept, but so far the execution is lacking...

It's a fast read in that you're drawn along rather nicely by the author's tight prose, but the story is rather predictable and a bit twee. Better for a flight than anything else.

Very fun, very entertaining. I even read parts of this book out loud to my friends because it was so entertaining!

Shock of shocks, I really enjoyed a romp of Greek Gods in contemporary Britain. It's really really fun. I'm just sorry I didn't write it myself.

this was the first time in a long time i actually laughed out loud at a book, multiple times! i thought this premise so fun and clever. i’ll say that even though the stakes were theoretically high, it never felt like anything but a lighthearted story, which was really quite refreshing. the mysterious conflict was really predictable, yet i still enjoyed it. and the couple is surprisingly root-for-able, and the ending is so perfect.

p.s. my friend said this book sounds like fanfiction and it IS honestly just greek myth fanfiction

tw: a god tries to sexually assault a mortal… to be fair he doesn’t realize it’s like… a bad thing?? exactly??? and it’s treated as a big deal for the character, it’s not just brushed aside

3.5 - funny read :)

Enjoying it so far. Reminds me of Good Omens a bit.

This book was about the twelve gods of Olympus living in modern London in an old townhouse. They have regular
jobs and live regular lives. Made me laugh out loud a lot and was an easy/fun way to learn about Greek Gods.
