Epic!!!

I loved every bit of this book and I didn't want it to end.
I'm going to miss the characters but I'll always have the books to go back and re-read.
Thank you Michelle for this trilogy and I can't wait to read more from you.

One thing I would've liked to see was a five year or ten year thing
where we find comfort in knowing that the characters are well and
have not had a problem with any fairies. Sort of like a HP type of epilogue
but HP wasn't the first to have a 9 or 10 year jump to let the readers know
everything is okay. Still, this was a perfect ending to a great trilogy.

The 3rd and last book in the series was even darker than the previous ones. All the characters had cruel and secretive moments, there was a lot of acting on rage and regretting it later. For a children’s story it had a lot of violence and cruelty against humans, faes and animals. I wouldn’t really give this series to younger children…

A fullfilling conclusion to the trilogy, it felt good to have my questions answered and my favorite characters happily settled on the way to their own, sort-of happily ever afters.

After the chaos of the last few years, Red is trying to settle back in to a normal life. Living at Elvesden manor, going to school and trying to forget her past life. Unfortunately her old friends have other ideas, and are determined to get her to help them with the changeling trade again. When Tanya and Fabien are drawn in Red is left with little choice, but can she manage to stop things spiralling any further and putting her new life at risk?

The final book in the trilogy, this one rounds things out well and brings a form of closure to the story. This one focuses more on Red and her story. I loved meeting some of her old friends, and thought the concept of having to face the consequences of previous actions and choices was a great baseline for a story.

This one is darker than the previous two novels, which themselves were darker than you often see for middle grade reads. I thought this was a great way of showing the characters' starting to grow up more and become more mature. It's also a sign of the books growing with the readers that read them, which is something I always appreciate with a series.

Whilst this is the end for this series, Harrison has plenty more in her back catalogue for me to get stuck in to.

4.5 I just couldn’t bring it up to 5. I thought it was a great finale to the trilogy. But the villain’s last speech dropped it downed for me. It was just too much hatred for too many people for me. I can say this though, Michelle Harrison is now an auto buy author for me.

The big reveal of the creepy, one-handed elf dude gave 13-year-old me nightmares lowkey haha I loved the theme with the 13 secrets and the end fight ish scene was so cool and sad from what I can remember (it was 5 years ago). I've been trying to get every preteen in my life to read it but they won't *sigh*

A solid conclusion to this trilogy, although I miss the fairies--there aren't a lot of them in this book. Also, don't read this unless you've read 13 Curses, as almost everything that happens in this starts in book 2 of the trilogy.
