Recensione completa qui: http://thereadingpal.blogspot.it/2016/12/recensione-39-la-prima-chiave.html
Quando alla fine scoprirai il segreto,
custodisci con cura la sua identità.
E' una preghiera mia: sii discreto,
se vuoi dare a Kilmore Cove
la sua libertà.
Ulysses Moore

My rating: 3/6
The First Key is supposedly the last book in the Ulysses Moore series, which was later extended. The book starts off right where the last one finished and follows Jason and Julia in medieval times, and other characters in the present.
For some reason it’s hard for me to say if I liked the book or not, maybe because previous installments were a bit disappointing. The story had a rather slow start but in the second half I started enjoying it. I liked the events in the present times a lot more, especially the story told by Leonard Minaxo – it was great to see how it all started. I also enjoyed seeing how everything fell into place in the end but the author still managed to leave us with an interesting cliffhanger.
Even though the series was a hit or miss for me so far, I think that I may still pick up next books with hope that they will improve and will once again have the magical sense of adventure that was so present in the first two books.
